Deacons likewise must be dignified, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for dishonest gain. They must hold the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. And let them also be tested first; then let them serve as deacons if they prove themselves blameless. Their wives likewise must be dignified, not slanderers, but sober-minded, faithful in all things. Let deacons each be the husband of one wife, managing their children and their own households well. For those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus.

Mark Jacob, Deacon of Finance/Aministration
Mark Jacob was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1968. He grew up very focused on school and worldly accomplishments. While attending law school at the University of Texas, he realized that worldly success was not fulfilling him the way he expected. A friend in law school shared the gospel with Mark, leading him to repent of his sins and trust in Christ for his salvation. Mark lives in Sugar Land with his wife, Holly, and four children and practices law with a firm in Houston. He has a passion for sports of all kinds and spending time with his family.

Gary McLoughlin, Deacon of Ordinance/Grounds

Gary was born in September of 1954 in the city of Chicago, Ill. He was raised as a catholic, but upon entering the military he began to search for a more meaningful faith. In 1974 while serving over seas, he began to study the scriptures on his own and with the guidance of other believers he came to realize that he needed to commit his life to Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Gary has been married to his life long partner Kathy for 33 years and they now reside in Richmond Texas. They have raised 3 children and now enjoy the blessings of 3 grandsons who live in Arizona. Gary is a sales manager for a heating and air conditioning distributor locally in Houston area. He enjoys reading books, playing pool, and working in the yard.

Joel Bain, Deacon of Ordinance/Administration
Joel was born in Lufkin, Texas in 1970. He grew up in church and recognized his sin early, but did not begin faithfully living for Christ until after he came to Houston in 1999. Joel met his wife Taylor while on a mission trip to India, they began dating following another mission trip to Guatemala, and they continue to have a heart for Global Missions. They were blessed with their first child, a little girl, in 2008. Joel has a mechanical engineering background and currently works in project management in the downstream oil industry. He loves reading, traveling, and spending time with his family.
