Travis Cardwell, Preaching PastorTravis Cardwell was born in Liberty, TX in 1979. He did not consider the claims of the gospel until his freshmen year in college. It was through the preaching of the gospel, at First Baptist Church in Bryan TX that he turned from his sins to trust in Christ. He immediately discerned a call into the pastorate, and to attend Seminary. He holds a B.S. from Texas A&M University and a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Travis is married to Alicia and has four children.
Billy Newhouse, Associate PastorBilly Newhouse was born in Houston, TX in 1977. He was raised Lutheran and as a teenager began to understand a need for Jesus. He was active in church and as he grew older and he began to feel more and more convicted of his sins. At Texas A&M he felt called to the ministry and after his degree went on to earn his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Billy became involved at Redeemer when it was a young church plant, and has become integral to its success and growth. Billy is married to Stephenie and has a new son. Currently Billy works as a banker and enjoys reading, running, and playing any sport that he can (especially softball, basketball, and flag football).
Bill Christen, ElderBill Christen was born in New York City in 1952. While living alone in New York, at the age of 18, Bill turned to the New Testament for the answers to life's questions. After reading the four gospels, he trusted Christ as his savior. Bill and his wife Charyle came to Redeemer in 2005, after being encouraged by some friends to visit. Bill and Charyle have a son, William (Bill) Charles, and a daughter Stephanie Elkins. They live in Rosenberg, TX. Bill is a finished cabinet maker. He enjoys organizing things and watching a good movie.
Richard Fields, ElderRichard Fields was born in Austin, Texas in 1958. While he grew up in the church, his life was marked by selfishness, bitterness and secret sin. Through a long process of painful growth with the encouragement of his lovely helpmeet, Richard learned what it was to receive at the cross God's grace in all things, and thereby be able to forgive others and escape the bitterness that had marked much of his life. Richard and his wife, Becky, find themselves committed to make people successful in living a victorious Christian life. Richard and Becky have 7 children ranging in ages between 11 and 26. The Fields' live in Sugar Land TX, where Richard works as a civil engineer. He enjoys visiting history museums and listening to books on CD.
